Amanda has worked for UCL for many years. Her role within CALT is to provide effective and high-level support to the Director with a particular emphasis on Finance, Estates and Facilities and Human Resources.

Please note that Amanda is in the office from Monday-Wednesday, works from home on Thursdays and does not work on Fridays.

My role is to facilitate the smooth operation of the CALT Administration office and maintain and implement office strategies in line with UCL’s policies. I co-ordinate the financial transactions of the CALT office and have oversight of the budget at an operational level. My HR duties involve maintaining sick records, processing payments, conducting risk assessments, advertising new posts and arranging interview logistics and induction of new staff. I also deal with maintenance and facilities issues on behalf of the department. I deputise for the Centre Administrator in all aspects and manage the Directors electronic diary.

Moira is responsible for the Erasmus Staff Training Mobility, liaising and organising Provost's Teaching Awards, Staff Short Courses, Graduate School Short Courses, PhD Supervision and PhD Examiners Training as well as all CALT events. Moira's background is in executive search and selection and HR consulting with FTSE100 companies across Europe in finance, banking and emerging technologies.

Like most interdisciplinarians, I've moved across the academic spectrum publishing on history, language, literature and interdisciplinarity: teaching has also taken me to most UCL faculties. My abiding interest is in how people create and live with knowledge systems like academic disciplines.

Jenny is Senior Teaching Fellow in CALT working with the Bartlett, Engineering Sciences and Mathematical and Physical Sciences. She joined CALT in 2005, focusing on the professional development of students. She has wide-ranging interests, including learning environments and reflective and experiential learning.

Andrew Bishop

Andrew has considerable student-focused experience working within higher education in London and elsewhere in the UK. Having previously worked in front-facing student offices, both undergraduate and postgraduate and across a range of disciplines, Andrew is particularly interested in the student experience and has recently been involved in research looking at student reflections on teaching and learning approaches across BEAMS.

Nick is Senior Teaching Fellow in CALT working with the Faculties of Laws, Arts & Humanities, Social & Historical Sciences, and SSEES. Nick joined CALT in September 2011 from the History of Art department. He has also taught and been a consultant at the Open University and lectured at Oxford Brookes University, Imperial College and Birkbeck.

Abbie Willett

Abbie joined UCL from the Royal College of Surgeons where she became interested in pedagogy after looking after a profile of courses developing the skills of surgeons wishing to teach. She is particularly interested in the use of the Student Voice in learning development and motivating students to become co-conspirators in their learning.

Teresa is a Senior Teaching Fellow in CALT, supporting the School of Life and Medical Sciences (SLMS). She joined CALT in October 2012, coming from Queen Mary, University of London where she collaborated with academics in biomedical engineering to introduce peer assessment. She is interested in improving students’ understandings of assessment and feedback processes and developing collaborative learning.
