  • More tailored and specific support was needed for first-year undergraduates in all parts of UCL. 

We did 

  • UCL has appointed 39 new Student Advisers, who offer specialised support for students in each faculty. They also run workshops and activities through the year to help you make the most of your time at UCL. 

     


You said

  • The process and eligibility for Extenuating Circumstances can be confusing. 

We did

  • UCL surveyed students to see how we could improve experiences of applying for Extenuating Circumstances. Our new, student-focused and streamlined process is supported by a new online application form to help you easily access the support you need. 

You said

  • Counselling services for UCL Students should have shorter waiting list periods. 

We did

  • UCL’s Student Psychological and Counselling Services (SPCS) have used extra funding to hire external counsellors. SPCS have a waiting period of two to three weeks for an initial assessment. 
     
  • UCL 24/7 Student Support Line offers free, confidential wellbeing support, available for students in the UK, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
