  • You needed more additional online resources during the lockdown.

 We did

  • We increased access to over 270,000 e-books and other types of resource, and added 30 new databases. We also purchased over 500 e-books in response to individual requests.

You said

  • You needed more support with your final year and research projects.

 We did

  • We created an online Dissertations and Research Projects guide outlining the wide array of online resources and the online enquiry and skills support available.

You said

  • It could be difficult to access some of UCL's teaching and learning resources from China.

 We did

  • We launched China Connect, a more reliable link between the China mainland and the UK.

You said

  • You didn't have the software or computing power that you would normally get in a computer room on campus.

 We did

  • We launched Virtual PCs so that you could use our campus computers remotely from home.

You said

  • You couldn't afford a new laptop to study remotely.

You said

  • Your WiFi could be unreliable.

 We did


You said

  • You need more study spaces and want access to Library facilities over the Christmas break.

We did

  • The Student Centre opened in February 2019, providing 1,000 new study spaces. The building provides 24/7 access over eight floors, with facilities including a prayer room, quiet study rooms and ISD's IT helpdesk.    
     
  • The UCL Main Library now stays open over the Christmas closure.

You said

  • Lecturecast should be available across more teaching spaces.

We did

  • 50% of classes held in spaces which have Lecturecast available, are now being recorded.
     
  • ISD continue to equip teaching rooms with Lecturecast capability and over the summer months the software was upgraded for better user experience.

You said

  • There are issues with computer availability on campus.

We did

  • ISD have installed 540 new computers, plus 60 additional laptops for loan.  

You said

  • You found Blackboard Collaborate unreliable.

We did

  • We invested in zoom, and made it avaliable for all staff and stduents to use.
