Building on East London's
reputation as a trailblazer in design and creativity, and inspired by the legacy of the Great Exhibition that created Exhibition Road in
Kensington, the Olympic Park now plans to make its name as a new centre for
attracting and nurturing talent and industry.
The cultural and education district, now known as East Bank, will be made up of two sites on the
Park, clustered around the Stadium, ArcelorMittal Orbit and
London Aquatics Centre. UCL East is therefore a core part of East Bank, together with
the proposed Stratford Waterfront development. The Stratford Waterfront features a new campus for
the University of the Arts London, along with new spaces for the
Victoria and Albert Museum and Sadler's Wells.
Overall, East Bank is seeking to create a world-class destination, which brings together organisations to showcase exceptional art, dance, history, craft, science,
technology and cutting edge design. For more information, see the East Bank website.
