Now open: UCL Therapeutic Acceleration Support (TAS) Fund – CALL 11

The UCL Therapeutic Acceleration Support (TAS) Fund - Call 11 is now open, inviting UCL researchers to apply for funding of up to £80,000 to accelerate their translational research.

The UCL Therapeutic Acceleration Support (TAS) Fund is supported by funding from the MRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) and the three Biomedical Research Centres (BRC) affiliated with UCL. These include the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) BRC, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) BRC, and Moorfields BRC.

It aims to accelerate the transition from discovery science to the early stages of therapeutic, device and diagnostic development by providing responsive and flexible funding to support preliminary translational work to de-risk projects and prepare applications for further, larger translational funding schemes.

Funding available  : £60 - 80k
Duration                 : 12 months
Research area       : Cell and gene therapies, regenerative medicine, medical devices, diagnostics, small molecules, biologics, repurposing and data/digital-based healthcare innovations
Eligibility                 : UCL researchers only; refer to the Application Guidance for details

Remit of this Call

  • All modalities of therapy and diagnostics including engineering/medical technology, bioinformatics approaches & psychological interventions can be submitted for consideration. Applications from across the breadth of diseases researched in UCL and its partner hospitals will be welcomed.
  • Applications including an industry partner are encouraged
  • Before applying please read the Application Guidance to ensure that your project is in remit. Applications that do not conform to the brief will not be considered for funding.
