Simon's Dissertation wins! Oct 2020
Congratulations to Simon McAlpine-Scott who's dissertation "Investigating the Interactions of Novel Inhibitors Targeting the HIV Capsid" has been awarded the Division of Infection and Immunity's Best Dissertation prize on the iBSc Immunology, Infection and Cell Pathology Course 2019-2020. Simon completed this work in the Towers lab under the guidance of Dr Morten Govasli Larsen.
Becky has left the lab, Sept 2020
After 6 years in the Towers lab, Dr Becky Sumner has left to take up a new position at Surrey University. We wish her all the very best.

Lucy Attended the UCL TRO/Wellcome Trust Translational Partnership Award Launch, Jan 2020
Lucy was invited to attend the UCL TRO/Wellcome Trust Translational Partnership Award Launch as part of a group of Wellcome Trust funded UCL researchers at various stages of their careers who have benefitted from the translational support. She was there as the young career researcher, to showcase translation research that had come about from her Sir Henry Wellcome Fellowship and is now funded by a London Advanced Therapies confidence in collaboration grant. Ahe gave a talk titled: Inhibition of Innate Immunity Facilitates Stem cell Gene Therapy: IFITM3 vs HIV.
The guest speaker at the event was Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller, the current Chair of Wellcome Trust.
