Staff-student partnerships

Working in partnership with students can be one of the most effective ways to engage your students.

Alongside the many department-led initiatives and local activities to work with students, there are a number of institution-wide programmes that you may wish to participate in to help drive positive changes in your programme or department.

Engage your students in departmental or programme priorities, create a sense of community and ensure a better educational experience for all.

Departmental ChangeMakers projects

UCL ChangeMakers provides funding and support for staff and students to work together in a project team to work on an idea to drive positive change.

Student Quality Reviewers

Student Quality Reviewers work with departments across UCL to examine different areas of academic practice in depth and offer their perspective on what’s working or suggest ideas for improvements.

Annual Student Experience Review (ASER) Student Co-authors

Involving students in writing and contributing to the ASER Development and Enhancement Plan from the start of the year is an excellent way to make sure that the plan reflects the views and priorities of students in the department.

Effective Staff-Student Consultative Committees (SSCCs)

Effective SSCCs can provide more than just a meeting forum; they are an important opportunity to discuss and jointly plan how to address issues or share ideas and celebrate what has gone well.
