New credit framework applied to student records

11 December 2018

Course units have been converted to credits on student records as part of annual Portico upgrade

Undergraduates in the second year or above will see a change in their student records after the annual upgrade of Portico.

The credit values of the modules they took in previous years have been updated from course units to credits.

This means that from 11th December 2018, students will be able to see the new credit values (1 course unit equates to 30 credits) on their Portico records.  These new values will also be included on all official documentation produced after this date, including academic transcripts and Higher Education Achievement Reports [HEAR].

Information about this change has been sent to all affected students.

As advised earlier in the year, this change is being made to introduce a consistent credit framework across the institution that will align UCL with the majority of UK universities.

For further information about the new credit values and other recent module-related changes, please see Module Registration FAQs for Staff.
