29 November 2016

New ‘how-to’ resources for teachers and support staff, created by UCL colleagues, are now available to download on this website, the redeveloped UCL Teaching & Learning Portal.

10 teaching toolkits, exploring a range of teaching methods from small group teaching to active learning, have been developed by key teaching teams from across the university.

Each toolkit provides an overview of the topic, practical tips and advice on how to develop you approach further and need-to-know information on UCL policy and guidance. The pages are hosted in the teaching resources section of the website.

The toolkits are designed to complement 10 existing assessment and feedback quick guides, which offer advice and resources on how to make the most of different approaches, from guided marking to peer assessment.

The PDF toolkits tap in to the expertise of colleagues from the Centre for Advancing Learning and Teaching (CALT), Digital Education and Life Learning. They were created in consultation with academic staff who helped identify current topics in teaching which would benefit from a thorough introduction in a clear and concise format.

Each toolkit includes links to to useful online and offline material.

As further topics are identified, the bank of teaching toolkits will expand. If you would like to suggest a topic for a future toolkit, please email: teaching.learning@ucl.ac.uk

As well as the new teaching toolkits, the redeveloped website features a newly-created student engagement section with information, advice and resources to help staff to support students in collaborating with us as full partners in every aspect of their education.
