This workshop will focus on the benefits and potential challenges of using rubrics in assessment within your subject area and provide practical guidance on: 

  • How to design a rubric aligned to learning outcomes,  bringing together criteria, expected performance levels, grades & feedback into a single scoring matrix.  

  • Creating online rubrics (Assessment UCL and Moodle) 

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of rubrics 

There will be opportunities for discussion and questions.   

After attending this session you will:

  • Design and construct an appropriate rubric for your assessments. 

  • Evaluate the benefits and challenges of using rubrics.  

  • Create and mark online with rubrics (e.g. on Assessment UCL/Moodle).
