UCL Arena Centre are delivering this session, which is open to all staff at UCL who teach students.
Meaningful student engagement supports learning, and can also give you valuable feedback about how your students are doing. Online education can feel isolating for students and staff and so creating opportunities for dialogue and conversations can break this barrier and give a sense of community.
This session will introduce a range of tools for engagement with students that can create class dialogue and give opportunities for feedback, providing formative assessment for students and methods of evaluation for yourself.
his aligns with sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Connected Learning Essentials course: Securing student engagement, Alternatives to face-to-face assessment, and Knowing students are engaging and learning.
You will also have the chance to try out Mentimeter in the session, and think about how you can build it, and other tools into your teaching. "
