Teaching with asynchronous learning activities 02 Dec

UCL Arena Centre and UCL Digital Education are delivering this session, which is open to all UCL staff who teach. 

The move to online learning means that much face-to-face interaction now takes place asynchronously, often in discussion forums in Moodle. 

This means that academics and students have to learn a new skill: how to transfer conversation, questions and interaction to asynchronous web-based delivery.  

 A well-managed discussion board can create opportunities for engagement and conversation. 

This session has three aims. These are to learn about:

1. creating communities of learning through asynchronous communication
2. creating asynchronous learning activities
3. functions in Moodle. 

It also aligns with Sections 3 and 4 of the Connected Learning Essentials course and so provides you with an opportunity to build on existing knowledge. 

In this 90-minute session, you will have the opportunity to discuss communities of learning, learn about different activities that will be appropriate for their subject areas and identify functions in Moodle that support asynchronous learning.
