UCL Arena Centre are delivering this session, which is open to all staff at UCL who are designing teaching and assessments.

In this session, you will explore ways to create new, and modify existing, assessments to dissuage students from conducting plagiarism in a way that encourages their development.  

This workshop will:

  • introduce plagiarism in higher education
  • explain the relationship between assessment and plagiarism 
  • outline practical steps you can do to decrease plagiarism and;
  • allow you to ask questions 

After attending this session you will

  • understand student (and staff) plagiarism in higher education
  • understand the relationship between assessment design and academic integrity 
  • be able to set assessment tasks which are more resistant to plagiarism and academic misconduct

Who should attend

You should attend this session if you are a staff member involved in designing teaching and assessment and are particularly interested in promoting better academic writing.  

Early career educators would find this session particularly interesting.
