UCL Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are delivering this session, which is open to all staff at UCL. 

UCL is committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of background, are able to participate fully in their education and achieve their potential. 

In this workshop you will understand how to create a positive learning space for students from diverse backgrounds. 

You will also hear about the impact on students if their needs are not considered. 

This workshop will:

  • set out legal context
  • explore barriers to inclusive teaching
  • provide tips to achieve inclusion and;
  • take away actions 

After attending this session you will .

  • understand The Equality Act 2010
  • be able to identifiy stereotype threat and confirmation bias 
  • identify inclusion in a variety of contexts
  • be clear on your personal responsibility 

Who should attend

You should attend if you are a member of UCL staff who teaches.  

Postgraduate Teaching Assistants and all early career educators will find this session particularly useful.
