Dear all,

 

Sustainable development is one of the major global themes of the 21st century and UCL has an important role to play in driving sustainable development. Action is needed from the whole UCL community to achieve a more sustainable future. One way of achieving this is to become a Green Champion for your department and to participate in UCL’s sustainability engagement programme Green Impact.

What is Green Impact?

Green Impact is a UCL-wide environmental competition that allows departments to improve their environmental and social impact. Departments form teams and complete an online workbook to green their department. Teams are audited by students and rewarded for their achievements at UCL’s Sustainability Awards. Benefits of taking part

  • Improve your skills in leadership, project management, communication and teamwork;
  • Meet other people with similar interests in your department and across UCL; 
  • Gain knowledge in sustainability literacy;
  • Join a dynamic green champion network to tackle UCL’s major sustainability issues and make a real positive impact;    
  • Gain recognition at UCL's Sustainability Awards;

Please email me if you would like to volunteer as a green champion and register for the workbook. Completing the toolkit is an excellent way of continuing your development and gaining skills, and can be mentioned in your appraisals. The Sustainability Team will support you throughout the year.
