UCL Aesthetics Faculty

The Faculty of Aesthetics a leading group of plastic surgeons, aesthetic physicians, academics and researchers.

We aim to promote evidence-based work in aesthetic surgery, non-surgical aesthetics and regenerative medicine. The Faculty is the first multidisciplinary team in the world to be devoted to education and training in aesthetics. We are proud to announce the development of two new master’s programmes for 2021 start:

  • Master of Surgery in Aesthetic Surgery
  • Master of Surgery in Minimally Invasive Aesthetics

Our aims are:

  1. To develop a critical understanding of and the ability to evaluate the clinical theory, practice, and associated research applied to the practice of Minimally Invasive Aesthetics, Aesthetic Surgery and Regenerative Medicine.
  2. To provide you with opportunities to apply the clinical theory, practice and associated research in the provision of Minimally Invasive Aesthetics, Aesthetic Surgery and Regenerative Medicine.
  3. To provide you with the opportunity to undertake an independent research study in Minimally Invasive Aesthetics, Aesthetic Surgery and Regenerative Medicine.

Our faculty members bring the latest advances in the sciences, technology and preparation for the clinicians to the field of aesthetics. Their scholarship is deepening our understanding of aesthetics while changing policy and practice.

We work closely with the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (BAAPS), Aesthetic Surgery Journal of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) on areas of common interest.


Current Research Areas:

The faculty encompasses a vigorous research culture, in which a strong spirit of collegiality supports both individual and collaborative projects. Our research embraces many aspects of the aesthetics,

  • Beauty concepts
  • Technology including the use of Artificial Intelligence
  • Pharmacological aspects of the Botulinum toxin including therapeutic efficacy
  • Rheology of the Hyaluronic Acid
  • Soft tissue filler related to Complication management
  • Cutting edge research on regenerative medicine.
