Stanmore Student Symposium

10 June 2019

Students and academics celebrate their achievements at the RNOH

Students getting their awards

Thanks to everyone who participated in the first Stanmore Student Symposium on 21st June - the participants were really engaged and we received some very positive feedback.

There was a wide variety of 3-minute presentations on topics ranging from technology development to biochemistry and clinical trials. Each session consisted of a mix of MSc and PhD presenters and included a few minutes for discussion after every talk.

Congratulations to Lizzie Reynolds and Fraje Watson, who won the best PGT & PGR student presentation prizes, respectively! Well done to Sean Doherty for providing us with a suitably “stimulating” invited talk entitled “Neuromodulation of the overactive bladder following Spinal Cord Injury, a PhD experience in Stanmore”, whilst the judges deliberated! Thanks to Rui, Mark, Kathryn (and a bit of luck with the weather) the day culminated with a delicious BBQ outside the Student Centre!
