Research, carried out by Division of Surgery Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Urological Oncology Hashim Ahmed, has been shortlisted by the BMJ for their 2015 Awards.

Hashim's work aims to enhance both the detection and treatment of prostate cancer, benefitting hundreds of thousands of patients around the world in both survival and quality of life, post-treatment.

He will now present his findings to a panel at the BMJ and as part of the nomination will receive a feature in the BMJ in the coming months, before the awards ceremony itself on 6 May.

Congratulations, Hash! And good luck, you'd be a worthy winner!
