Open Days and Visits

You'll want to visit UCL and UCL Department of Science and Technology Studies (STS) if you're thinking about studying here. Several options are available.

We know you have many options when considering a place at university. At STS, we want you to experience UCL as a place: wander through the corridors, catch a glimpse of some unusual architecture, smell the pizza, feel the energy that will charge this next phase of your life. We want you to visit.

In-person Open Days

UCL offers undergraduate open days throughout the year, offering admissions talks, tours, information fairs and much more. Details of these can be found at the UCL Open Days page.

Virtual Open Days

For those considering a place with us, STS also offers virtual open days.

The video below is footage from a virtual from a virtual open day we held for applicants applying for September 2020. This features STS academics describing our two undergradaute BSc degrees, History and Philosophy of Science BSc and Sociology and Politics of Science BSc.

In-person Guided Tours

UCL offers guided tours of the campus, provided by current UCL students. These tours are aimed at prospective students and their families, and normally last around 90 minutes. Information about the tours is available on the UCL guided tours website.

Virtual Guided Tours

If you are unable to visit in person, you can take a virtual tour of UCL instead. You'll be able to look inside lecture theatres, laboratories, the Library, Fitness Centre, the Bloomsbury Theatre and the Students' Union. Virtual tours of our Student Houses and Halls of Residence are also available. A list of Student Houses and Halls of Residence detailing prices and locations can be found on the UCL Student Accommodation website.

STS virtual tours aim to introduce our degrees and offer a sample of the tutors and topics you'll explore while at UCL. Watching a video is no substitute for a visit, but we hope to pique your curiosity while answering some basic questions.
