Research Ethics
Course Description:

This course uses case studies and discussion to help you explore ethics related to research. It will help you articulate your ethical framework, understand and appreciate alternate views, and consider a range of ethical issues that may arise during research.

  • Origins of ethical frameworks
  • Trolley buses and autonomous cars
  • University research ethics case studies
  • What is/is not acceptable to research
  • Legal and international perspectives
  • Ethical concerns with your research

Objectives:

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Articulate clearly your ethical perspectives relevant to your work
  • Understand and appreciate a variety of alternate views
  • Apply cogent ethical thinking to issues that may arise during your University research
