Engagement & Impact: Evidencing Impact
Course Description:

An interactive workshop which will help academics to understand, evidence, and evaluate the impactful outcomes of their research. Participants will explore case studies from across research disciplines and consider how to apply approaches to their own research.

This session will cover:

  • The research career benefits of evidence collection and understanding impactful outcomes
  • Understanding quantitative and qualitative evidence collection
  • Selecting appropriate methods of evidence collection for your stakeholders & beneficiaries
  • Beyond research & engagement: assessing changes and benefits for society and the economy
  • Effective resourcing: planning for evidence collection from the outset
  • Exploring best-practice case studies for evidencing impact from across UCL faculties

Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Select appropriate methods of evidence collection for your research project
  • Understand the benefits of evidencing and evaluating research impact
  • Critically reflect upon approaches to evidencing research impact
