The Writing Series: Maintaining Momentum (Part 1 and Part 2)
Course Description:

When life gets in the way, or other professional commitments take priority, the task of beginning to write, or of beginning again, can seem insurmountable. 

In “Rain after Drought”, the first of two linked workshops, we will look at ways to get started with a new writing project, or to resume work on one that has been put on hold. 

In the second workshop, “Do the Write Thing”, I’ll introduce you to techniques I use myself to navigate a solo writing session (be it one that lasts an hour, a day, or longer) and to stay focused throughout. 

As writers, all of us face similar challenges, and experience them differently. Bearing this in mind, participants will be encouraged to spend a little time before each workshop making a note of any difficulties they’ve faced in starting to write, or starting to write again.
