DSD: Software for success: Data visualisation
Course Description:

This session gives an introduction to tools with visualisation capabilities such as Excel, Python, Power BI and R. It will cover data import and export, manipulation, visualisation techniques, and publishing. Participations have the option of following along with what is being shown in the session, setting up an example data in one of several tools. To do this, you will need access to current or recent versions of such tools (MS Excel etc. and possibly others): further information will be provided when you register.

This is a two hour workshop delivered remotely.

Please note that the session focuses on "research" data visualisation. If your work is not "research" but requires the use of data visualisation, you are welcome to attend with the understanding that the session might not address your needs. It is also important to note that the session is mainly about using the respective tools, and much less about the suitability of such tools for research in general, and specifically that you are doing. Participants are welcome to the session to discover what visualisation is possible on these tools; others with specific requirements e.g. data selection, linking, are welcome too to decide on the suitability of these tools for your research work.
