DSD: LaTex with NatBib
Course Description:

This course introduces the main elements of typesetting with LaTeX and using the Natbib citation package.

This course may take place over two half days and the start and end times and locations for each session may be different. Please check the session dates and times given under Other Information in the details for the specific Class you wish to attend - only available once you are logged into the booking system.


An understanding of the use of bibliographies and citation.

At the end of this course you will be able to:
  • To understand the process of creating a LaTeX document from source
  • To be able to use a specialist editor program to create LaTeX source code to typeset an academic paper
  • To understand the concept of a document class in LaTeX
  • To be able to insert figures into a LaTeX document
  • To be able to insert tables into a LaTeX document
  • To be able to use document structure commands such as chapter and section in a LaTeX document
  • To understand the elements of using BibTeX to cite and reference in LaTeX
  • To understand how to use NatBib for citation and referencing in LaTeX
