The booking system is open to anyone with an active UCL userID (e.g. ucccabc). The system requires a training profile on MyHR to allocate your place:

• If you use MyHR or MyFinance, you will already have a training profile to enrol.
• For all other users, please wait for five minutes after selecting enrol and do not refresh your page. A training profile will be created for you. After this, future enrolments will be quicker.

Safe Decanting of Liquid Nitrogen
Course Description: We are pleased to offer you this practical workshop. The workshop will give you the opportunity to watch and learn how to decant liquid nitrogen safely. Learners must bring and wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - this includes lab coats, closed shoes, visor, a face covering mask and closed safety shoes. Prerequisites: You must have successfully completed the eLearning course Liquid Nitrogen in the Workplace. If you have any issues with booking on this practical course, please email safetytraining@ucl.ac.uk by sending us a copy of your completed eLearning certificate called 'Liquid Nitrogen in the Workplace' and we will confirm a place for your on the next available date.
Objectives: This course gives practical safety awareness of working with liquid nitrogen and includes a demonstration on how to safely decant liquid nitrogen from a pressurised vessel into a dewar. Pipework identification and safe operation of vessels Risk assessments Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safe procedures for filling and use of liquid nitrogen in open dewars and flasks Demonstration of practical decanting of liquid nitrogen Safe use of liquid nitrogen in dewars and flasks
