• If you use MyHR or MyFinance, you will already have a training profile to enrol.
• For all other users, please wait for five minutes after selecting enrol and do not refresh your page. A training profile will be created for you. After this, future enrolments will be quicker.

Dangerous Goods Awareness
Course Description: This one hour course, is for staff involved in in the transport of dangerous goods. To provide awareness of the different regulation framework and context. To show the correct procedures and point staff to competent packers, consignors and couriers and report incidents as required. This course covers: The legislative framework - UN, ADR, IMDG, ICAO / IATA, UK Road Regulations Incidents with dangerous goods. Responsibilities of the parties ? shipper, consignor, operator, courier, post room. Hidden dangerous goods (clinical trial samples, chemicals and other items) Awareness of: Classes of dangerous goods UN numbers Proper shipping names Packaging ? UN specification, limited quantities, excepted quantities Labelling of packages Documentation ? an overview of the dangerous goods note and the shipper?s declaration The role of the Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) Resources and information Contact details
Objectives: By the end of this course you will have gained an understanding of: Why transport is highly regulated Why transport is not permitted on private vehicles and public transport How to recognise dangerous goods in packages What to expect when dangerous goods are delivered Their responsibilities and restrictions under all the relevant regulations The role of the UCL DGSA
