DLE: Getting Started with Moodle - Online
Course Description:

This self-paced online course is aimed at UCL staff who are new to Moodle (UCL's Virtual Learning Environment) as well as those wishing to brush up on their knowledge.

The course provides a series of video and written guides, and links to helpful resources. As you follow the guides, you are invited to apply the knowledge gained in your own test course.

This course will teach you everything you need to know to build a basic Moodle course from scratch. The course can be started immediately and completed at your convenience and shouldn't take more than 1 hour.

After completing the course and if you need any additional help, you will be able to book a one-to-one online appointment with a trainer from the Digital Education Support Team. Please visit the GSWMO course to see the available dates and book your slot.

At the end of this course you will be able to:
  • Navigate UCL Moodle Virtual Learning Environment
  • Identify the key elements of the UCL Baseline and Accessibility design
  • Help your students orient themselves on Moodle courses
  • Create your course homepage and add content (text, images and links)
  • Upload and add files into your Moodle course
  • Add activities to a Moodle course including Learning forums and other engagement tools.
  • Enrol your students using Manual and Portico enrolment
Intended Audience:
This course is aimed at staff new to Moodle and/or new to UCL Moodle, and staff who want to refresh their Moodle skills.
