Working title of thesis: Public Trust in European Central Bank under Economic Uncertainty— An Analysis from the Perspective of Household Investment in Education

Research: My research wants to explore whether an increase in investment in education can help mitigate the weakening public trust in the central bank brought about by economic uncertainty. As economic uncertainty can negatively affect the public's trust in the central bank, and the population will be more risk-averse when it comes to investments, this can lead to a decrease in household investment in education. This study innovatively links economic uncertainty to trust and uses household investment in education as a mediator, with the aim of investigating how to effectively increase public trust in the ECB in the long period of economic uncertainty in the future, and also to provide suggestions for the next economic development.

Research interest: Public Trust; European Central Bank; Economic Uncertainty; Education Investment.

Research Centre Affiliation:  UCL Centre for Comparative Studies of Emerging Economies, SSEESingFRINGE, and Research Student Seminar Series.
