UPCH (Undergraduate Preparatory Certificate for the Humanities)
About the qualification
A one-year university programme, for international students whose High School qualifications are not suitable for direct admission to undergraduate degree programmes in the UK.

| AAB | Award of UPCH with an overall mark of 70%, 70% in one humanities unit and 64% in the second humanities unit. |
| ABB | Award of UPCH with an overall mark of 70%, 64% in each core humanities unit. |
Please note that the A*A*A requirement has only been approved for the Mathematics Department.
UPC grading
A* = 76%
A = 70-75%
B = 64-69%
C = 56-63%
D = 48-55%
E = 40-47%

Entrance Requirements

Note
UPC students applying to degree programmes in the UCL faculties of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Engineering Sciences (via UCAS) will receive a conditional offer should their predicted UPC grade match the standard required.
English Language Proficiency Requirement
- Standard level: Completion of the UPCH Academic English course with a mark of 65%, with a minimum of 60% in each subtest.
- Good level: Completion of the UPCH Academic English course with a mark of 70%, with a minimum of 65% in each subtest.
- Advanced level: Completion of the UPCH Academic English course with a mark of 75%, with a minimum of 65% in each subtest.
