Information relating to graduation ceremonies
Graduation
A total of 26,176 students have been invited to attend a graduation ceremony this year, over three thousand more than last year and 19,700 students registered to attend. This year all ceremonies are being held at the Royal Festival Hall.
May Ceremonies
The May ceremonies are now underway and will run from May 20 – May 25. These ceremonies are for postgraduate taught and research students.
July Ceremonies
The July Ceremonies will take place on 08 July. Students completing the MBBS and students from the faculty of Population Health will be attending.
September Ceremonies
September ceremonies will take place between 02 September – 06 September. Eligible students have already received their invitation and completed an initial expression of interest. The graduation portal will open on 11 July for students to confirm their registration.
Graduation eligibility and undergraduate award deadlines
The deadline for awards to be approved for inclusion in graduation is 01 August. Students whose awards are conferred after this date will be invited to attend a ceremony in 2025.
Graduation eligibility and EC claims
Please be aware that any students with deferrals or extensions must have an award approved by 01 August to be eligible for their ceremony. Any students deferring to the Late Summer Assessment period and will not be eligible to attend their ceremony.
All students entered into LSA will receive an email letting them know they will be invited to attend a ceremony in 2025 upon successful completion of their award.
Step down students
The deadline for students on an MSci/MEng wishing to exit this year with an BSci/BEng was 30 April. We have sent an email with initial ceremony information to those students who applied by the deadline. Attendance at a ceremony in September for any students deciding to exit at the exam boards or applying for a transfer after the deadline will be considered in July.
