New mark entry code

24 May 2023

Find out about the new mark entry code for missing marks due to the Marking and Assessment Boycott

We have created a new Mark Entry Code to be used specifically for components / modules affected by the marking and assessment boycott.

Before using this code, you must be sure that the mark is missing due to the marking and assessment boycott and will remain missing until after the Board of Examiner meeting.

Once you are satisfied that the mark is missing due to the boycott, follow the steps below, according to whether the student is a finalist or progressing student:

FINALISTS

  • Where the missing component(s) mark(s) is worth 50% or less of the module weighting you should submit a request via the Query Management Logs for the component(s) to be excluded from the module result calculation. The module results will be based on the other components in the module.

  • Where the missing component(s) mark(s) is worth more than 50% of the module weighting you should enter 0 MX for the components. The overall module result will calculate as 0 MX and the module will be excluded from the classification calculation.

PROGRESSING STUDENTS

  • Enter 0 MX for the affected components. The overall module result will calculate as 0 MX. The progression outcome will be determined by the student’s marks profile.

For process and guidance relating to the Marking and Assessment boycott, visit our Marking and Assessment Boycott Guidance and Procedures webpage.
