Changes to assessment date entry process

From September, we will be asking Departments to enter their assessment dates for the coming academic year directly into Portico rather than via the Assessment Change spreadsheet on the Student Records MS Teams site.

This change will benefit the Extenuating Circumstances process as assessment dates will be auto populated for students when they create an EC claim, reducing the time spent creating a claim for students and time spent checking these dates by EC review panels. It will also mean that dates are inputted to Portico more quickly than is currently possible and will reduce the scope for human error.

Once we have this data, future enhancements will be possible such as the ability to export a calendar of assessment dates at programme level – enabling staff to review assessment load for students more easily across the academic year.
