Students’ Union UCL Advice Service’s work in supporting students with academic issues
The Students’ Union UCL Advice Service provides comprehensive support from trained advisors to students dealing with a variety of issues during their time at university.
One of the main ways we offer assistance is in academic issues, for example supporting students through academic misconduct allegations, attending panels as a ‘friend’, and explaining complex processes such as the Academic Insufficiency or Student Complaints procedures.
We encourage you as academic staff to direct your students to our service when processes like these are initiated, or if you feel that they could benefit from any further support that cannot be given within the department so we can assist students as early on as possible in the process.
We also welcome you to direct students to us at any time on any other issues we provide support with, such as housing or financial concerns.
Both students and staff can find a wealth of information about our services and frequently asked questions on our website, and the best way for students to get in touch with us to speak to an advisor is by using this contact form. We offer appointments and advice face-to-face, online, by telephone or by email.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at su.advice@ucl.ac.uk.
