8-12 December 2022: Portico service outage for migration to Cloud

Update on arrangements for modernising Portico and post-migration support

The migration of Portico to the Cloud will begin promptly at 5pm on Thursday 8 December. Portico and associated services, such as Payonline, UCL Select and the Applicant Portal will be unavailable from this time.

Access to Portico is expected to be restored from 10am on Monday 12 December. Associated services will also be made available at or shortly after this time.

Staff are reminded that the application processes for extenuating circumstances and interruptions will be unavailable while Portico is offline and are encouraged to process applications in-progress ahead of the outage where possible. Please reassure students that new applications can be submitted as soon as the service is restored and the outage window will be taken into account. For further guidance to support your students, please refer to the advice on EC claims during the Portico outage.

Following the migration, Portico eVision is expected to look and function as it does today so there will be no need for re-training. Users will continue to have access to the same processes and reports as they do now. Additional support will be available to assist with any issues that may arise immediately after the migration through to the end of January 2023.

Please share this information with your colleagues to help with planning around this down time. Advanced notice of this interruption of service has been placed on the Portico login screen and is being communicated to staff and students via various channels.
