Assessment Query Forms – Findings Main 2022 Central Assessment Period

The overall online assessment query rate over 57,590 candidates was 2.40% this includes claims of a technical failure and those user errors that would only arise during an online assessment

1.0 Introduction: 

This paper analyses the Main 2022 examination period, the numbers of assessment instances the number of exam sittings (candidatures) and looks at the Assessment Query Forms students have submitted. The aim of this paper is to ascertain the volume and types of issues encountered by students and to provide the data to enable evidence based decision making for future iterations of regulations Online Controlled Conditioned Exams

3.0 AQFs by day 

The following chart shows us that there is an initial spike of queries in the first part of the exam period which correlates to students having their first exam and then as the exam period progresses the number of queries (and exams) reduce.  This is usual for all exam periods both in person and online. 

Furthermore 1,386 students submitted AQFs of which 1276 students only submitted one AQF = 92% of students submitted one AQF only 

The evidence suggests that after a students first exam where difficulties were encountered such issues for the majority of students did not arise again.
