Student Support Framework Briefing
25 August 2022
Join our briefing on 6 September on the Student Support Framework, including changes to Extenuating Circumstances
Following the conclusion of the Student Support Review, UCL’s regulations and procedures relating to student support, including Extenuating Circumstances, Reasonable Adjustments, and Fitness to Study have been revised.
The Student Support Framework has been agreed by UCL’s Education Committee for implementation in the Academic Manual for the 2022-23 session onwards. More information about the changes can be found in our recent special edition of the Academic Services Newsletter.
To support the changes to EC regulations a new EC system will be launched in Portico at the start of next academic year.
New EC System to go live on 3 October
Students will submit their requests via Portico and departments will be able to track and manage requests in the system bringing improved transparency of the process.
The new functionality will be used by all departments across UCL and will go live on 3 October 2022.
All EC requests relating to assessments taking place in 2022/23 will be processed within Portico. EC requests for UG students finishing their LSAs will continue to be managed via the former method along with any PG students completing in Autumn 2022
PGT students completing in time for the Autumn exam boards will also continue on the existing EC system.
