Sign up for our briefing on Curriculum Data Maintenance and Module Selection for 2022-23

22 November 2021

Important information about changes to Curriculum Data Maintenance and Module selection for 2022-23 and briefing invite

To support you in preparing for Curriculum Data Maintenance and Module Selection, the Student Lifecycle team will shortly be holding a Briefing Session.

During the session we’ll be talking you through some changes to Curriculum Data Maintenance and Module Selection for 2022/23.  It will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions.

The session will take place on Wednesday 1 December 2021 at 11am and will be held via Teams and is available to anyone who participates in these activities.

An invite to the session has already been cascaded to departmental colleagues. If you haven’t received the invite, you can join the session by clicking here.  If you are unable to attend, a recording will be made available soon after. A package of training materials will also be made available on 1 December 2021 relating to these activities.

Curriculum Data Maintenance

The Curriculum Data Maintenance: Modules and Assessments and Programme Diet Maintenace tasks will shortly be opened so that you can make changes to modules and programme diets for 2022/23 ready for the publication of the UCL Module Catalogue for 2022/23 which will take place in March 2022 and module selection which will be taking place earlier for continuing students. Within these tasks you can make the following changes:

  • Withdraw, suspend and un-suspend modules for 2022/23
  • Amend module delivery teaching terms
  • Amend module catalogue information such as the module description, keywords, contact information and tutor
  • Update your programme diets

Assessment Changes for 2022/23

We will also make available spreadsheets based on the current module assessment data for 2022/23 for you to record module delivery assessment changes for 2022/23 instead of completing a Module Amendment Form (MAF). On the spreadsheet, you will be able to indicate the following:

  • Assessment weighting changes
  • Changes to methods of assessment

Faculty approval will be required on these spreadsheets for changes.

This year there are some changes to the Curriculum Data activities.  For example, the diet deadline for returning students has been brought forward. The diet deadline for new students will remain unchanged.  This is a result of changes to student module selection.

Student Module Selection

Next year we will be asking our returning students to make their initial module selection for the 2022-23 academic year in April instead of September.

This will give departments more time to plan based on actual demand, address any issues and consider options in advance of Start of Session. It will also allow more time to ensure the modules on a student’s record are recorded accurately.

We’re changing the selection process to improve the student experience.  Our students will know what they are studying earlier and will be able to resolve queries and seek guidance at a less stressful time of the year.

More information about module selection will be shared in the next edition of the academic newsletter. In the meantime, please come along to the briefing on 1 December to find out more.
