UG Progression Changes for 2020/21

18 May 2021

Changes to condonement and resit rules for the upcoming UG Exam Boards

The 2020-21 Covid-19 package includes some minor changes to make progression slightly easier for UG students.

If a student fails in up to 60 credits, it may be possible for the Exam Board to condone 30 credits and allow the student to ‘Provisionally Progress’ and resit the remaining 30 credits the following year, in tandem with next year’s modules.

More information: Teaching continuity – COVID mitigation for 2020-21 assessments

Non-standard programmes

Please note that this option is not available on programmes which do not permit condonement (e.g. some professionally-accredited programmes), and some programmes have lower condonement thresholds (e.g. professionally-accredited programmes in Engineering). Students and staff can find the specific No Detriment regulations for their individual programme via the Portico Progression and Award Rules Tool
