Our regular spotlight returns with Katie Weetman.
What is your role and what does it involve?
Senior Admissions Officer – Applicant Enquiries. The Applicant Enquiries Team are responsible for responding to admissions queries which I support through continuous improvement of enquiry management.
How long have you been at UCL and what was your previous role?
I joined UCL at the start of March. Previously, I worked at the University of Birmingham, specifically for the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences with responsibility for their Admissions, Marketing and Student Recruitment.
Tell us about the top of your to-do list?
Currently to review and update admissions standard emails, ensuring they have the most up to date information available.
What is your favourite album, film and novel?
Toy Story would be my favourite film, although I couldn’t pick just one of them. A novel I recently finished “Before I go to sleep” which is a great read for anyone who wants a bit mystery.
What is your favourite place?
Cornwall, I have been going there since I was young and enjoy visiting more every year.
What is your top tip for working remotely?
Always try to fit in a lunchtime walk. This is something I will also aim to do once back in the office as I think it is good to get away from the work environment briefly.
