Completing Research Status (CRS) for research students 2021-22

During the summer, we need to collect details of students moving to CRS next year. Because of the way fees are collected, students are charged fees up to the date they move to CRS so we will need to know if this date is at the start or later in the 2021 academic session. 
 
To do this, please could research administrators for departments/DTCs/CDTs please compile a spreadsheet with the students' numbers, names and the date they will move to CRS and email this to Research Degrees 
 
To remind you of the conditions for CRS –  

• Students must have upgraded to PhD 

• They must have completed the minimum required registration period - three years full time or five years part time – before they move to CRS.  

• UKRI funded students should not move to CRS for the period of any funded extension where fees are covered, e.g. the Phase 2 extensions. They may need to move to CRS after this if they will not be ready to submit within the period of their funding.  

Please provide this information as soon as you can and before students are asked to enrol in August. Please note that we will have a large number of records to update so please bear with us while we work through all the information you send.
