New Interruptions Process – Training Sessions

Departments will soon be able to approve applications using an online workflow – training sessions are now available to book

A new Interruptions of Study policy and online process is being launched soon and you can now sign up to attend briefing and training sessions.

What is changing?

The new process will include:

  • More support for students before, during and after interruption
  • More guidance for departments on how to support students
  • New online workflow in Portico
  • Departmental approval of standard interruptions
  • Meetings with students to plan their return to study
  • Interruptions for flexible/ modular students in their final year of study
  • Replacing backdating with deferrals via Extenuating Circumstances  
  • Students can access facilities, libraries etc. 3 months before they return

Training Sessions

Sessions for Departments and Faculties have been organised to include an overview of the policy, process and Portico workflows.  Students will be applying for their interruptions online.  Departments will view the applications, draft the return to study plan, manage communications and make a decision all in Portico.

Sessions are as follows:

  • 25 January 11.00
  • 28 January 13.00
  • 29 January 11.00
