Communicating 2020-21 COVID 'no detriment' rules to students
20 April 2021
Programme progression and award rules made available to students and staff via Portico
This week undergraduate finalists, postgraduate taught finalists with summer completion and progressing students will be able to see in Portico the standard rules for calculating their award or progression, and how the 2021 no detriment policy will be applied. Please note that students will only see the specific rules that apply to them, rather than a list of all programmes and years of entry. These students were sent an email from Portico on Monday 19 April, inviting them to log in and see how this year’s arrangements affect their degree classification. Postgraduate taught autumn finalists will be contacted in due course.
Please let your colleagues know these emails are going out, so that they can anticipate likely questions from students. Colleagues can find the details on Portico in the ‘Awards, Assessments and Achievements' page in the 'Progression and Award Process' container under 'View Programme Progression and Award Rules'.
Student Records will be in contact regarding some testing of the algorithms in Portico.
Feedback about the rules themselves, or queries about the system or the decisions of the Examinations and Assessments Contingency Panel should be emailed to academicregulations@ucl.ac.uk.
