To ensure enquiries reach the correct place and can be answered promptly, please note the following contact details for different types of Student Misconduct. These are split into two broad categories - Academic and non-Academic Misconduct.

Academic Misconduct

Academic Misconduct is addressed under the Student Academic Misconduct Procedures. It is defined as instances where a student breaches the assessment regulations and is effectively any conduct that would give an unfair advantage to the candidate and/ or affect the security of assessments and/ or affect the integrity of the degrees awarded by UCL. Examples include:

  • Plagiarism
  • Collusion
  • Gaining or attempting to gain access to another student's work (without authorisation)
  • Contract Cheating
  • Falsification (of data or extenuating circumstances evidence*)
  • Exam Room Misconduct (use of notes, removal of scripts, conferring with other students, etc)

*Note: Falsification of Extenuating Circumstances evidence used to be addressed under the Student Disciplinary Procedure, but was included under Student Academic Misconduct from 2019/20 onwards.
