AMP Programme Summaries Update

Due to rapidly changing situation, the Programme Summaries ‘editor’ functionality including its use within the prospectus has been delayed to the next academic year

The decision has been made to continue using Report Lab for the Postgraduate Prospectus. Work will instead focus on the redesign of the prospectus and degree webpages. We hope that the 2022-23 workflow of the prospectus will take place within Portico. 

With rapidly changing workloads and patterns across the University, we are looking to see how we can take the pressure off colleagues. To that end, we’re changing the order slightly regarding Programme Summaries and the Postgraduate Prospectus. The digital presence team will be re-designing the online prospectus first, following broadly the same timelines as the “copy call” periods for PG and UG. This means we won’t currently be changing where the content is edited as originally planned. We’re aiming to do the migration to Portico in the next academic year, when hopefully the pressure has lessened on colleagues. Some of you will have met with our Content Strategists (Doug Knox and Jo Macauley) and this work will feed into the redesign project, there’s still lots of consultation to do - we’re still looking to improve content gathering and editing. In doing things this way around, we hope this means we’re not asking people to try to get to grips with completely new processes at the same time. The “copy calls” will continue as it is for a few more months in Report Lab.
