New Intercollegiate Module Sharing Student Policy

10 June 2019

A new policy has been published bringing together guidance on how student administration is dealt with when UCL students wish to take elective modules at another University of London College or Institute.

The policy will help staff and students with ensuring that intercollegiate module sharing is managed smoothly and effectively. It brings together current practice across Faculties into a single policy that all Departments should comply with. The policy is student-facing and Is referred to in the Core Programme Information 2019-20.

Discussions have taken place across the majority of University of London Colleges and Institutes to ensure that each institution has the same understanding of how student administration on intercollegiate modules should be dealt with.

The policy was approved by Education Committee in February 2019 and is published in Chapter 8 of the Academic Manual, the Academic Partnerships Framework, as an annex on the landing page: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/academic-manual/chapters/chapter-8-academic-partnerships-framework.

The policy covers areas such as applying to take an intercollegiate module, clarification on what assessment regulations apply on intercollegiate modules and student complaints and disciplinary processes on intercollegiate modules.
