Walter Werner Scholarship

The Walter Werner Scholarship is intended to enable two UK students to pursue a three-year undergraduate degree at UCL.

Eligible programmes: All undergraduate degree programmes

Eligibility

Eligible candidates must:

  • be domiciled in the UK with Home fee status;
  • be in financial need as assessed by UCL;
  • hold an offer of admission to UCL to study for a full-time undergraduate programme for the 2023/24 intake.

Value, benefits, and duration

The award provides £31,250 per year for a three year undergraduate programme and is subject to satisfactory academic progress. The award will be applied to cover tuition fees first and the rest will be paid as maintenance allowance.

Two awards are available for 2023/24.


Selection

The criterion for awarding the scholarship is financial need and you will need to demonstrate this in the application.


How to apply

The Walter Werner Scholarship is one of the schemes that make up the Undergraduate Funding and Access Awards (UGFA).

To be considered for the scholarship, please follow the procedure on the UGFA webpage.


Results

The UGFAs will be awarded by recommendation by a panel composed of UCL staff. The successful candidates will be notified as soon as decisions are made by mid-September.
