Funded by Bristows and UCL Business in memory of Laura Anderson, the aim of this scholarship is to enable students in financial need to pursue the MSc Drug Discovery and Development at UCL.
Over her long and successful career as a lawyer, Laura Anderson supported and advised many organisations (including UCL Business) in their pursuit of translational science, an area she was passionate about. Laura was also a staunch supporter of equal opportunities and access to higher education for all.
Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil all of the following criteria:
- be ordinarily resident in the UK and eligible to pay Home fee rate;
- AND have submitted an admission application to study for a MSc Drug Discovery and Development at UCL in 2024/25.
Value, benefits, and duration
- There is one (1) scholarship available in 2024/25.
- The value of the award is full fees and £20,000 maintenance.
- The award is tenable for one year only.
- The Laura Anderson Scholarship may potentially be held alongside other scholarships, studentships, awards, or bursaries.
- Award recipients are obliged to inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the Laura Anderson Scholarship.
Selection
The bursary is awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit. Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of financial need upon the recommendation of the Student Funding Office. Shortlisted candidates will then be considered by the UCL School of Pharmacy, who will make the final decision.
