10am to 12pm, Friday 15 February 2019
Ground Floor Meeting Room, Office of the Vice-Provost (Research), UCL, 2 Taviton Street, London, WC1H 0BT
A great strength of being a social scientist is the transferability of both skills and knowledge. However this can mean working in an environment where few (or possibly no-one) shares your disciplinary background. This can prove difficult in terms of both ongoing support and positive role models.
In this session
I will share my pathway as a sociologist working in medical departments. I will
discuss my experiences and help participants think about their current
challenges and future career plans.
Dr Fiona Stevenson, Head of Research Department Primary Care & Population Health (from 01/01/19), Reader in medical sociology, Co-Director eHealth Unit, Institute of Epidemiology & Health, Population Health Sciences, SLMS.
