Consider how far can your research can spread- what influence it could create on policy, or how it might benefit a community? How a technology created could benefit the economy or help developing countries around the world? Can a drug developed at UCL save the NHS thousands of pounds or save millions of lives?

Research impact is the effect research has applied outside of the university and your discipline, and is now a required consideration in both UK and EU research funding proposals, alongside the Research Excellence Framework assessment of UK institutions. At UCL, we support and celebrate impactful projects through a variety of means-whether your work is led by public engagement, policy, health services, global development or enterprise.

This workshop will introduce the concept of impact, highlighting UCL services which support impactful activities through small grants and funding opportunities, and will share tools to help Early Career Researchers plan for, enable and evidence the change their research can deliver.
