30 September 2021
Congratulations to CPS Board member, Dr Ingo Waldmann (UCL P&A / CSED) who has been appointed as a Fellow of The Alan Turing Institute.
We are delighted to annouce that CPS Board member, Ingo Waldmann (UCL P&A and CSED Deputy Director), was one of 36 UCL researchers among a cohort of more than 400, to be appointed as a Fellow of The Alan Turing Institute for the current academic year. The fellowships started on 1 October and last for 12 months.
Ingo commented on the appointment:
The fields of planetary and exoplanetary sciences are at the forefront of contemporary astronomy but applications of modern machine learning are still relatively rare. Planetary science has a plethora of high quality data sets that are ideally suited for modern AI approaches. Being part of the Turing community allows me to further promote AI development in this exciting field.
